Food: The perfect Salad Shirazi



In Iran, The Salad Shirazi, originally from Shiraz, at the south of the country is a traditional dish served as an appetizer or a side dish. No matter how, it is a must-be on each Persian table. The recipe is incredibly easy and it is really one of the most iconic delight of Persian cuisine. The perfect dish to be served with rice for instance. Iranian people love to eat it with everything. The fresh and vitamins ingredients are just the perfect healthy food for a great summer (and winter!).

Here’s the recipe for your perfect Salad Shirazi:

Ingrédients : (4 people)

  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 small red onion
  • Lime green
  • 1/2 tablespoon of dry mint or 7 fresh mint leaves finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil (optional)
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation :

– Wash and cut diced tomatoes and cucumber 

– Thinly slice the onion

– Put the ingredients in in a dish and  sprinkle the dry mint

– Seasoned with lime, olive oil, salt and pepper

– Mix up, leave to rest in a cool place and serve it one hour later 


It’s ready! Serve it as a salad or side dish.
